First Day of School

Today we officially started kindergarten! (Well, I'm calling it kindergarten, but it's actually a combination of K and pre-K for Nicholas.) Here's our curriculum:

• Lessons from Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons
• Handwriting Without Tears
• Developing Number Concepts by Kathy Richardson

We'll be doing one to two sight words per week, BOB books, Bible verses, and seasonal thematic social studies and science. We're also planning monthly field trips and holiday parties with another homeschool family from church!

Here are some photos taken this morning. (You'll notice the pajamas- I've found that doing the schoolwork immediately after breakfast is the way to go with Nicholas. Our goal is to work for about an hour per day, so we'll usually finish by 9:00!)
